Vanessa Fox, who worked at Google Webmaster Centre, left Google for real estate vertical search engine Zillow.
As you know, Google Based application Google Life opend for days. Real estate vertical is included in the tabs. And other tabs is job, railway tickets, used goods, hotel/restaurant/other shop or retailer or other service places. Before Google life, China have a similar site KooXoo. I think it is a way to buy KooXoo for Google.
Google Life only opened in Chinese, I do not know wheather Google has the plan to open this service in english and other languages.
For my views, for vertical search engine, to protect its profit, the best way is to make it special. Just like YouTube was welcome but Google Video not. For another ways, should make fast decision to deal the changes.
For the recent decision for Zillow, build a china branch or team for the china market. Now just few players in China market. Zillow should have the big to be the top 1 in China.
Once I submitted my resume to Google for a product manager position. but a chinese girl from Google China said I did not have the team spirit. What is the spirit, I am a business man. She do not know, I am a cool Team Builder.
Maybe this time I can work for Zillow I think. I can build a market running team to operat Chinese Zillow. And I can let a translater team to make Zillow Chinese Version.
Zillow will be the next YouTube, and will become the next target of Google?
